**UPDATE** R.I.P WHITNEY HOUSTON

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Coroner's officials say they will not release any information on Whitney Houston's autopsy at the request of police detectives investigating the singer's death. Capt. John Kades says an autopsy on Houston was schedule Sunday but that a security hold prevents him from releasing any details on its status or whether any probable cause of death has been established. Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said Sunday that his agency may release more details about Houston's death Saturday afternoon on Monday, but it will depend on whether detectives feel comfortable releasing any information. A member of Houston's entourage found the 48-year-old singer unresponsive in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Saturday, just hours before she was supposed to appear at a pre-Grammy gala.

UPDATE: CNN reports that Houston's body was found in her room at the Beverly Hilton hotel by her bodyguard. Attempts to resuscitate the singer were made by emergency personnel but she did not respond. Her body still remains at the hotel. Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said that Houston was pronounced dead 3:55PM PST in her room on the fourth floor. "There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent at this time," Rosen states. Reports also reveal that Whitney Houston's mother spoke to her 20 to 35 minutes before she died. Veteran singer Dionne Warwick, Houston's cousin, was in contact with her Saturday, speaking about which table they would sit at during Clive Davis' annual Grammy party later that evening. LOS ANGELES (AP) - Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, has died. She was 48. Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unclear. At her peak in the 1980s and '90s, Houston the golden girl of the music industry and one of the world's best-selling artists. Among her hits were "How Will I Know," ''Saving All My Love for You" and "I Will Always Love You." She won multiple Grammys including album and record of the year.Her success carried her beyond music to movies like "The Bodyguard." But by the end of her career, drug use took its toll as her record sales plummeted and her voice became raspy and hoarse.

Young Money star Nicki Minaj is not likely to join a veggie-only diet any time soon as the rapper's backstage concert demands have emerged online showing she requires spicy fried chicken amongst other luxurious items. A detailed list of Minaj's rider, or list of demands, hit the Internet this week.

The "Check It Out" rapper's backstage demands have been revealed and it seems the musician is happy to live up to her diva reputation. As well as the chicken - which she specifies must have "no thighs" and "lots of wings" - Nicki also asks for two dozen pink or white roses, two space heaters, one gallon of Simply Lemonade, 12 cans of Red Bull and scented candles. Food is apparently very important to the 29-year-old star and her crew as she requests different items for throughout the day, including scrambled egg whites, turkey bacon, toast, Belgian waffles, strawberries, assorted juices and a large fruit platter for breakfast and a deli tray with turkey breast meat, grilled chicken breast, whole Wheat bread or rolls, yellow mustard and other condiments (seasoned salt, hot sauce) and a large fruit platter with side of mango and one large cheese platter for after the concert. Despite her excessive requirements, Minaj says she isn't a diva offstage and insists she takes on a persona when she performs. She told the publication: "They're definitely two completely different people. Obviously what I would wear at home is not what I would wear up on stage and I think, when I'm at home it's a way more introspective character and I think the person people see on stage is anything but. I watch a lot of Judge Judy. And I watch a lot of Forensic Files. And I cook -- I cook spaghetti really, really good; I cook macaroni and cheese really, really good; I cook chicken really, really good." (The Star)

In summer 2010, Grammy-winning singer Rihanna's concert demands leaked online.

With the U.S. leg of Rihanna's 2010 world tour scheduled to kick off next month in Auburn, Washington, concert promoters are preparing to deal with the singer's very specific backstage demands. According to her tour rider, excerpted below, Rihanna (real name: Robin Fenty) is rather particular when it comes to candles, flowers, and seating in her dressing room. A six-foot couch needs to be "White, Cloth, Plush (No leather)" and "wide enough for her to stretch out on and sometime take a nap." Animal print throw pillows ("Cheetah, Leopard") cannot have sequins. Since Rihanna's arena digs are often locker rooms normally occupied by basketball and hockey players, the spaces need to be spruced up with "Icy Blue Chiffon" placed atop drapery and "Archipelago Black Forest Candles." The bathroom, of course, must be "spotless," and the toilet has to be deep cleaned before the star's arrival. Rihanna, 22, also requires a large throw rug (plush, with an animal print) in her dressing room. The rug, her rider notes, "must be CLEAN, as she will walk on it barefoot." Though perhaps shower slippers or flip-flops are advisable considering the sweaty occupants who normally fill these spaces. (The Smoking Gun)

A year prior, rap mogul Jay-Z's rider showed he liked to ball with gourmet and alcohol products.

The chart-topping performer did not get every perk requested in his concert rider, since the school does not provide artists with alcohol, tobacco, or $400,000 luxury vehicles. Jay-Z demands that promoters provide him with ground transportation while he is in town performing. Specifically, the rap star requires a late-model black Maybach (either the 57 or 62 model) with tinted windows. Carter's dressing room must be stocked with Sapporo beer, vodka, tequila, and two bottles of $300 Champagne and two bottles (at $200 apiece) of 2004 Sassicaia, which his rider helpfully describes as a "Red, Italian Wine from Bolgheri Region." Additionally, Carter requires "Good Quality" peanut butter and jelly, one martini shaker, 12 shot glasses, and a pack of Marlboro Lights. A marked-up copy of the Jay-Z rider, provided by the University of Arizona, includes the school's deletion of items it declined to provide the rapper. (The Smoking Gun)

BEYONCE GETS $100,000,000 TV OFFER, "IT WOULD BE THE HIGHEST TV SALARY EVER"

Grammy-winning singer Beyonce Knowles-Carter is reportedly getting sought after for $100 million to take her talents to the small screen and become a judge on reality music competition television show, "The X-Factor."According to reports, the million dollar gig would be for a full-time role.

Simon Cowell is offering Beyonce an annual salary of $100 million to be a full-time judge on The X-Factor, according to reports online. It would be the highest TV salary ever, and could be the perfect job for Beyonce, 30, who gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy, her first child with husband Jay-Z, last month. Rap mogul Jay-Z displayed his love for newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter last night (February 6) by performing "Glory" for the first time during his much talked about Carnegie Hall concert in New York City. At his Monday night show, Jay admitted how personal the record is to him.

As Jay-Z transitioned from hit song to hit song at a Carnegie Hall concert Monday night, so did the lighting, changing from red to white to blue. The veteran rapper then performed his latest hit, "Glory," about his 1-month-old daughter with Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter. "I didn't think I was going to make it through that one," he said, sounding emotional. "That was tough." It was one of the many jams Jay-Z performed at New York's famed venue, his latest achievement in music domination. The rapper is the second hip-hop act to perform at Carnegie Hall. Wyclef Jean did so in 2001 with Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton and Whitney Houston. (National Public Radio)

Nas joined Jay-Z and Alicia Keys on stage earlier in the night, performing both of their NYC anthems: "Empire State of Mind" and "N.Y. State of Mind." Jay stepped off stage as Nas and Alicia Keys performed his Billboard 100 hit, "If I Ruled the World." Backed by a full orchestra, singers Bilal and Bridget Kelly, and The Roots' Questlove on the drums, Jay-Z managed to maintain all of Carnegie Hall on their feet for all of the approximately 2 hr. performance with diamonds in the air. There was no way Beyoncé was going to miss hubby Jay-Z's first gig at Carnegie Hall? on Monday night. The new mom made a huge splash just walking into the show, he first public appearance since the birth of Blue Ivy Carter? last month. Wearing a form-fitting Alice Temperly dress, four-inch Christian Louboutin heels and holding a gold Alexander McQueen clutch, the singer looked in fighting form for her big night out. (MTV)

While British performer M.I.A. continued her silence, Madonna was among the legion of angry observers after Sunday's fiasco during the Super Bowl halftime show that a member of M.I.A.'s team says the rapper blames on "adrenaline" and "nerves" M.I.A., 36, flipped her middle finger and swore into the camera during her rap solo as a record 111.3 million viewers around the world watched the performance. The gesture drew a flood of comment initially, followed by conflicting apologies from the National Football League and NBC, which presented the halftime musical event live and was late censoring the obscene gesture.

 

“She wasn't thinking,” a member of M.I.A.’s team who requested anonymity but, according to The Mail in London, was with the artist at Lucas Oil Stadium told the newspaper. “It wasn't any kind of statement.“She was caught in the moment, and she's incredibly sorry.”But it may be a costly mistake; TMZ cited sources as saying M.I.A. could end up paying any fines imposed by the FCC in the wake of the drama because, The Mail reported, she is said to have signed a contract with the NFL in which she agreed to indemnify the league for any money it might be forced to pay if the FCC comes down on NBC. According to Reuters and other news agencies, Madonna is livid about the situation.
