THANK GOD MARIO IS FREE FROM LEGAL TROUBLE

SINGER MARIO & HIS MOTHER SHAWNTIA HARDAWAY

Ms. Hardaway, an admitted Heroin addict battling the addiction for years, filed charges against her own son singer Mario back in September.  He was then arrested and charged with second degree assault.

But now, she has dropped all charges according to her lawyer, because she realized she didn't really have a case.  She also changed her story and said Mario never touched her, she was just intoxicated that night when she filed her report.  According to the NY Daily News:
Shawntia Hardaway was intoxicated when she told police her son, whose real name is Mario Dewar Barrett, had pushed her, causing "minor pain," according to police reports. Hardaway's attorney, Richard Woods, said she was simply upset when she filed the report.
"It was much to do about nothing," Woods said, according to the Baltimore Sun. "I met with her, she told me what happened and there wasn't any criminal action on the part of Mario."
Hardaway told police on Sept. 27 that the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant, 24, pushed her "eight feet into a living room wall," causing her to strike her head. Mario was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree assault and later released after he posted a $50,000 bond.

His attorney pointed to Hardaway's drug use as a reason for the initial accusations.

"It was clear from the beginning that Mario never touched or struck his mother," he said. "She was under the influence of drugs when she gave her statement to police. To her credit, she corrected her statement in court today.

UPDATE:  Mario talked to US Magazine today saying, "I'm glad to be finally vindicated.  I want to thank everyone who believed in me. I will continue to love and support my mother."His mom lied so the charges were dropped," a source tells US. Meanwhile, Mario kept his calm through the situation by working on his music.  He plans to release a mix tape next month and an album next year.   

I HOPE & PRAY THAT MARIO CONTINUE SUCCESS AND THAT HIS MOTHER QUIT DRUGS FOR GOOD THIS TIME. I JUST REMEMBER WATCHING "THE TYRA BANKS SHOW" & SHE CLAIMED THAT REHAB HELPED HER AND THAT SHE WAS DONE FOR GOOD, BUT I KNOW IT'S HARD FOR SOMEONE TO JUST QUIT LIKE THAT. AND I GUESS MARIO USED TO IT CAUSE HIS MOTHER HAS BEEN USING HEROIN SINCE HE WAS A KID. I'M SURE IF ALOT OF ADDICTS COULD FEEL HOW MUCH THEY HURT THEIR KIDS & FAMILY WITH THEIR SICKNESS THAT WOULD HELP THEM STOP. AND IT'S SAD TO SAY THAT SOMETIMES AS THE CHILD YOU HAVE TO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR PARENT, BUT JUST SEPARATE FROM THEM LITTLE. BECAUSE MARIO IS A GREAT TALENT WHOM SINCE CHILDHOOD HAS TRIED TO HELP HIS MOTHER, BUT AFTER THIS SILLY SITUATION THAT HIS SICK MOM HAS CAUSED. I THINK MARIO SHOULD GET SOME SPACE AND KEEP USING WHAT GOD GAVE HIM & START TO THINK ABOUT HIMSELF MORE, EVEN THOUGH ITS HARD TO LEAVE SOMEONE LIKE UR MOTHER BEHIND. BUT THAT COULD BE THE ANSWER FOR HIS MOMS TO REALIZE THAT IF SHE REALLY CARED ABOUT HER SON BEING IN HER LIFE SHE SHOULD CHANGE. AND MARIO DEF NEED TO STOP BEING AN ENABLER, WITH ALL THE $ HE HAS DRUGS ARE EASILY AT HER DISPENSE. BUT HE'LL SURVIVE AND HE CAN REFLECT & CARE ABOUT HIS NEEDS FOR AWHILE INSTEAD OF BEING A CHAPERON FOR A GROWN WOMAN. TRUST ME I HAD TO DO IT, KEYSHIA COLE HAS ALSO LOVED HER FAMILY FROM A DISTANCE AND STARTED TO THINK ABOUT HER NEEDS MORE. AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED FOR HER, SHE FOUND A GOOD HANDSOME MAN, HAD A BEAUTIFUL BABY. AND NOW SHE'S ABOUT TO GET MARRIED & THEIR LIVING A RICH, HAPPY & HEALTHY LIFE WITHOUT THE BULLS%#T.
