Haley Reinhart Performs With Her Father, Falls on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)
Haley Reinhart certainly had a memorable opening number for this semi-final performance episode of 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX). She became the first contestant to perform during the show with a family member on-stage when her father joined her on Led Zeppelin's 'What Is and What Should Never Be.'
He proved a consummate guitarist and a professional all around. Poor Haley, either flummoxed by her father's presence, or just unlucky in the moment, took a tumble at one point when trying to climb the stairs in front of the judges, but she recovered quickly and finished strong.
"Did you fall for me?" quipped Steven Tyler. But, more seriously, he added, "It's not about how many times you fall, it's how many times you get back up."
'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.
Did Haley do enough to get into the Finals? IN MY OPINION HELLZ NO. IM SORRY BUT I HAVE TO SAY THIS, EVERYBODY KNOW THAT “AMERICAN IDOL” IS RAN BY AMERICA BUT CERTAIN PEOPLE DON’T LIKE TO SEE A LOT OF AFRICAN AMERICANS WIN DEFINITELY ON REALITY SHOWS LIKE “AMERICAN IDOL”. AND THE SHOWS KNOW HOW TO MANIPULATE THE PHONE LINES OR WHATEVER TO REALLY KEEP WHO THEY WANT TO KEEP. COME ON, FINAL 3 IS SOME DUMMIES WHO CANT SING AND IS FALLING ALL OVER THE PLACE. BUT REAL TALENT LIKE JACOB GETS SENT HOME BECAUSE CERTAIN AMERICANS OR THE SHOW DOESN’T LIKE TO SEE BLACK PEOPLE WIN. SAMETHING FOR “DANCING WITH THE STARS” EVERYBODY KNOW THAT BRANDY WAS THE BEST DANCER AND SHOULD HAVE WON, AND EVEN WHEN HER PEOPLE WOULD CALL IN FOR HER, THERE CALLS WENT TO BRISTOL PALIN FLAT FACE. AND THAT’S SO NOT RITE, AS WELL AS THIS SEASON ROMEO IS A DANCING MACHINE AND 10,000 TIMES BETTER THAN HIS FATHER I MIGHT ADD, BUT HE GETS SENT HOME BEFORE SOME OTHER THOSE OTHER HORRIBLE DANCERS. WHATEVER!
At 1st it was the lipstick thing now she's falling everywhere. I’ll tell you why she felled: she finally realized that her voice is so out of tune and horrible that she shouldn’t even made it past the point to sing for JLo, Randy & Steven.
