A phone bank trainer for one of Equality California’s Orange County locations opened the office for volunteers on Thursday and found a black noose hanging on the door. Mel Distel told the Orange County Register she found the noose late Thursday when she opened up the Santa Ana office. She called the police, and says an officer told her sometimes you have to live with being a victim. Distel says she plans to file a formal complaint about the officer's response. A Santa Ana police spokesperson wouldn’t comment on Distel’s claims but said police were investigating the incident.
IT'S A SHAME THAT THERE IS STILL RACISM, IGNORANCE & WANNABE KKK MEMBERS IN THE THE YEAR OF 2010-11. PEOPLE NEED HELP WITH THEMSELVES THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO PUT A RACIST GESTURE IN FRONT OF A PLACE WHERE INTELLIGENT GOOD AFRICAN-AMERICANS ARE TO MAKE A CHANGE IN THE COMMUNITY. BUT I GUESS WHEN YOUR LONELY, IGNORANT AND STUPID, THEN YOU DO STUPID THINGS. AND I REALLY HOPE THAT THE POLICE OFFICER WHOM MADE THAT LOW-LIFE REMARK (AND I WONDER WAS HE/SHE BLACK OR WHITE) REALLY HAVE TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES FOR HIS/HER REMARK.
