**UPDATE** Demi Moore's sudden hospitalization Monday night has opened the door to a litany of crazy-sounding claims. If we are to believe the most outrageous, Moore is a 49-year-old anorexic with a serious Red Bull and Adderallhabit who huffed away at nitrogen oxide (or whip-its, to use the street term) the night that she collapsed into anepileptic seizure at her home. This was all, obviously, in an effort to maintain control after a marital fall-out with 33-year-old ex-hubby Ashton Kutcher, who savagelycheated on her with a 22-year-old girl on the night of their sixth wedding anniversary last fall. Whew. Rumors aside, Moore's hospitalization could be viewed as long-in-coming. Moore has reportedly been released from Sherman Oaks Hospital, but the frantic 911 phone call made from her house went public on Friday, inviting more speculation and making clear the concern for the star's health."She smoked something. It's not marijuana, but it's similar to incense and she seems to be having convulsions of some sort," her friends say in the heavily-redacted phone call, adding that Moore appeared barely conscious. A friend also told the emergency dispatcher that Moore had been "having some issues with some other stuff lately. I don't know what she's been taking or not."Moore has copped to having alcohol and substance issues before. The self-described "trailer park kid"had a rough upbringing that included moving several dozen times and the man who she called Dad committing suicide in 1980. Moore is also the first to admit that she was a hard-partying teenager, reportedly acquiring a cocaine habit that landed her in rehab for two weeks during her Brat Pack days. Her drug use even drew concern from "St. Elmo's Fire" director Joel Schumacher, according to a 1996 report from People magazine, though she subsequently kicked the habit. In June 2007, ex-husband Bruce Willis admitted that he and Moore had endured their fair share of addiction-related problems, something he told Playboy that they had warned their three daughters to be wary of. "We have an ongoing conversation. They have the gene, and we warn them: 'You have a predisposition to be an alcoholic.' It's on her side of the family and mine. It's something to be aware of. My kids are strongly anti-drug," he said.Meanwhile, a report that surfaced in October amidst divorce rumors may have been the first to link Moore with substance abuse problems again. In Touch reported a source that claimed that "Demi is a complete mess... The last year of her life has been a downward spiral, and she's being urged to face her demons."The source also confirmed that Moore had succumbed to her old ways, saying "it's a misconception that she was ever 100 percent sober. She's been drinking for years."

Actress Demi Moore was taken to the hospital on Monday night after having a reported substance abuse issue. Per TMZ, a 9-1-1 call was made from Moore's Los Angeles home at 10:45 p.m.; upon arrival, paramedics spent 30 minutes checking her out before transporting her to a nearby hospital. Sources tell TMZ that Moore's health problems are substance-abuse related and that she's seeking "further professional assistance." That was not confirmed by reps for Moore, however, who said their client was looking for help to combat fatigue."Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health," said one of Moore's representatives in a statement to Moviefone. "She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends." The rep added that there was no further information available at present time. Moore had a difficult end to 2011. The actress filed for divorce from husband Ashton Kutcher in November after nearly six years of marriage."As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she told the Associated Press at the time.
UPDATE: Because of her current issues, Moore has had to drop out of "Lovelace," the biopic about the life of Linda Lovelace. She was set to cameo as Gloria Steinem in the film, which stars Amanda Seyfried as the titular porn star.
