Justin Bieber got into a physical altercation with a photographer in Calabasas, Calif., on Sunday, Celebuzz has learned.
Bieber, 18, lost his cool after a paparazzo got too close trying to take a picture of the “Boyfriend” singer as he left the Calabasas Commons with gal pal Selena Gomez, 19. The couple, who were at the shopping center for a matinee flick, were met by awaiting photographers upon exiting the theater at around 12:30 p.m.
According to the police report, the victim called the cops as other onlooking photogs snapped shots of Gomez calming down her enraged beau as she collected his hat and shoe that had fallen off during the scuffle.
The police and paramedics arrived to the scene to tend to the pap involved in the incident, but could not reach Bieber for a comment as the pop sensation and his girlfriend had left the scene before the deputies’ arrival.
After complaining about pain to his upper torso, the paparazzo was taken to a hospital, treated, then released. The investigation is still on-going.
“THANKS YOU SO MUCH to my fans for always protecting me and being there for me,” Gomez wrote on herFacebook this Sunday afternoon. “I can’t thank you guys enough. I’m sorry I had to rush out. Love you guys.”
A rep from Bieber’s camp has yet to respond to Celebuzz’s requests for comment.
